Nashville’s Abandoned Airport Engagement Session

I wanted to try out something fun and different while photographing Lauren and Dave’s engagement session.  One day I was scanning Google Maps and I came across what looked to be an abandoned airport here in Nashville.  I investigated this and realized I was correct.  Cornelia Fort Airport had been flooded so bad in 2010 it was shut down and repurposed as a giant park.

People can freely roam around and even out onto the runways there.  Photographing on the runway  put us far enough from the tree line that we had the perfect, warm-toned sunset.  The sun was able to dip low in the sky before disappearing behind the trees.  Dave, Lauren and I had the place to ourselves to explore and have fun while putting their love on display for the camera.
